As the most senior reserve enlisted member of the Coast Guard, the MCPO-CGR serves as trusted advisor and assistant. Master George M. Williamson, is the seventh person selected to serve as the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard Reserve. The MCPO-CGR sets a visible example of the core values of honor, respect and devotion to duty. Those selected to serve in this prestigious position possess the highest standards of professionalism and personal integrity. Generally, the assignment is four years, running concurrently with the tours of the Commandant and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard.

In this capacity, VADM Abel is responsible for the development of operational strategy, policy, guidance, and resources that address national priorities. This oversight of Coast Guard missions, programs, and services includes: intelligence; international affairs; cyber; the maritime transportation system; commercial regulations and inspections; search and rescue; maritime security; law enforcement; defense operations; environmental response; contingency planning; and the operational capabilities of cutter, boat, aviation, shore, and deployable specialized forces.

As the Deputy Commandant for Operations (DCO) Senior Reserve Officer (SRO), RADM McKinley facilitates the operational readiness of 7,000 reservists to be prepared to respond to emergencies, domestically and abroad. Prior to that, he served as the Director of Reserve and Military Personnel. He currently serves as a member of DoD’s Reserve Forces Policy Board, an independent advisory board that recommends Reserve initiatives and Policies to the Secretary of Defense.

As the Senior Reserve Officer of Operational Logistics (DOL), Capt. Devereaux leads an organization of 690 assigned reserve personnel across 16 base commands. In this role, he is responsible for providing operationally ready and capable resources for augmentation and mobilization to enable mission support logistics during steady state and contingency operations throughout the Coast Guard enterprise.

As Pacific Area Senior Reserve Officer, he leads, manages, and develops Pacific Area Reserve Senior Leadership Team of four District Senior Reserve Officers, Area and District Command Master Chiefs, and Captains serving at Combat Command’s (COCOM), Coastal Riverine Groups, and Pacific Area Staff..
